The Gender Equality Festival – the 18th edition – challenges activism and involvement.
Gender equality is a piece of the puzzle of equal rights, meaning the art of valuing a person regardless of whether they are a woman or a man, regardless of race, ethnicity, social class, or other labels. An art that is cultivated, a puzzle that is built by each of us. We nurture these values through social mobilization, civic initiatives, and various forms of activism: something you do out of conviction, not just for your own well-being but also for those around you. Caring about people who are different from you means making the community a better place for everyone. This is the theme that A.L.E.G. is addressing this year with young people at the Gender Equality Festival 2023, from October 4th to 7th, at its 18th edition because becoming mature also means being active in a world where rights and freedoms must be constantly defended.
The Gender Equality Festival is an awareness campaign aiming primarily young people to help them become familiar with concepts such as human rights and women’s rights and to see beyond stereotypes and prejudices.

The Gender Equality Festival® is an annual campaign that brings closer to the community a positive alternative to the unequal power relations that produce injustice, abuse and discrimination, organized by the A.L.E.G. This year’s edition is financed by the Global Fund for Children and the International Rescue Committee, in partnership with the Gong Theater for Children and Youth and Promenada Mall Sibiu.
