Ukrainian school from Sibiu

On Saturday, October 2, in Sibiu, the Ukrainian School in Sibiu opened, a much-needed space for children who fled the path of war with their parents. This approach is based on a long effort by the Sus Inima Association and its partners. We were happy to contribute with supplies and other materials necessary for the smooth conduct of the study activities and we want to continue our engagement in conducting educational workshops for children and young people, but also for their parents.

The school offers an option for children from grades I-IV to stay in touch with education, routine, socialization. Here are some reasons why we congratulate the Sus Inima initiative and want to support the school’s projects further:

• We know how important it is for children to have access to quality knowledge this school year.
• The children will learn the Romanian language, as a compulsory language, which will help them from the year to integrate into the Romanian education system, or to continue their studies if they want to relocate to Ukraine.
• Parents will have the opportunity to work full time, while the children are at school.
• Parents will also be involved in activities and thus interact with each other and the community, overcoming the feeling of isolation

The war steals chances, opportunities for development, peace and more. But what war will never be able to steal is #solidarity. Only by being by each other’s side will we emerge victorious.

A.L.E.G. provides material support to the Ukrainian community in Sibiu consisting in the purchase of supplies and printing of educational materials for the school, but also the purchase of technological equipment (telephones) that can facilitate access to online educational materials/games/videos. All these efforts are possible through financial support from the Global Fund For Children.

At the same time, we offer information on gender violence and access to support services (specialized psychological counseling), psychosocial counseling services for mothers, self-defense training courses for children and adults, and cultural and educational programs. У суботу, 2 жовтня, у Сібіу відкрилася Українська школа – вкрай потрібний простір для дітей, які разом із батьками втекли зі стежки війни. Цей підхід базується на тривалих зусиллях Асоціації Sus Inima та її партнерів. Ми з радістю зробили внесок із приладдям та іншими матеріалами, необхідними для безперебійного проведення навчальної діяльності, і хочемо залишатися поруч у проведенні освітніх семінарів для дітей та молоді, а також для їхніх батьків.

Школа пропонує можливість для дітей I-IV класів залишатися на зв’язку з навчанням, режимом, соціалізацією. Ось кілька причин, чому ми вітаємо ініціативу Sus Inima та хочемо підтримувати проекти школи й надалі:

Ми знаємо, як важливо, щоб малюки мали доступ до якісних знань цього навчального року.
Діти вивчатимуть румунську мову як обов’язкову, що допоможе їм з року влаштуватися в румунську систему освіти або продовжити навчання, якщо вони захочуть переїхати в Україну.
Батьки матимуть можливість повноцінно працювати, поки діти в школі.
Батьки також братимуть участь у заходах і, таким чином, взаємодіятимуть один з одним та громадою, долаючи відчуття ізоляції.
Війна викрадає шанси, можливості для розвитку, миру тощо. Але те, що війна ніколи не зможе вкрасти, так це #солідарність. Тільки будучи поруч один з одним, ми вийдемо переможцями.

Я ОБИРАЮ. надає матеріальну підтримку українській громаді в Сібіу, що полягає в закупівлі приладдя та друку навчальних матеріалів для школи, а також у закупівлі технологічного обладнання (телефонів), яке може полегшити доступ до онлайн-навчальних матеріалів/ігор/відео. Усі ці зусилля можливі завдяки фінансовій підтримці Глобального фонду для дітей.

Водночас ми пропонуємо інформацію про ґендерне насильство та доступ до послуг підтримки (спеціалізованих психологічних консультацій), психосоціальних консультацій для матерів, курсів самозахисту для дітей і дорослих, а також культурних та освітніх програм.
