We don’t often make a direct connection between money and domestic violence, but financial education can play a powerful role in a survivor’s story and help her get out of an abusive relationship, or it could even serve to prevent abuse in the first place.<\/span><\/p>\n

When a woman realizes she is in an abusive relationship and decides to leave, often the first concern that arises is financial. Economic abuse in a relationship is a form of domestic violence manifested by a pattern of behavior used by one partner to gain and maintain power and control in the relationship. It manifests at first, subtly, and then progresses over time through income control, employment bans, exclusion from money-related decisions, etc. To support you, A.L.E.G. Association launched a financial education guide, with the support of Banometru, within the <\/span>\u0218iEuReu\u0219esc <\/span><\/a>program.
