All communities include people who have faced acts of violence at some point in their lives. While violence by armed groups in conflict situations is often discussed in the media, the acts of abuse behind closed doors, within the four walls of one\u2019s own house, often remain unseen.<\/p>\n

People fleeing the war, whether as refugees or displaced, are more vulnerable to acts of violence, including sexual or gender-based violence. Moreover, gender-based violence is more prevalent in spaces where human rights are generally disregarded. In the face of human rights violations, women and children are most vulnerable.<\/p>\n

Association A.L.E.G. <\/b>launches on Tuesday, May 30, from 3:00 p.m., at the Astra Library in Sibiu, Safety Baggage. Guideline on gender-based violence for people fleeing the war. <\/i><\/b>The publication developed by our team together with experts in the field of human rights and gender equality, examines the impact and consequences of war on women and girls. We hope that this guide will be useful for prevention and support in situations of gender-based violence during and after the war, both for people at risk of violence and human trafficking, and for professionals involved in prevention. In the context of the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, the Association for Liberty and Equality of Gender\u2013 A.L.E.G., through its Counselling centre for the prevention and combating of domestic violence, is providing a series of services integrating the organization\u2019s 18-year-long experience in preventing and combating gender-based violence and the lessons learnt from survivors and from the support groups organized in the framework of the programme \u0218i\u00a0eu\u00a0reu\u0219esc\u00ae (I too can do it).<\/i><\/p>\n
